Patrols

At the heart of every surf club are our Patrols. Patrols are trained and highly skilled volunteers with many different roles all with the task of keeping our beach safe for the locals and visitors who use it.

Volunteer patrol members monitor the beach and water, identify potential hazards, assist people when needed and respond quickly to incidents when they occur.

Patrols operate to prevent emergencies before they happen, through observation, communication, education and early intervention.

Lifesavers work as a team, using their training, experience and equipment to manage risks and provide assistance when needed.

We offer training through SLS programs and skilled educators. Not all lifesavers have to be in the water. We have courses for communications, drone operation and first aid roles.
