Nippers
Shoalhaven Heads Nippers is all about helping kids build confidence, learn new skills and enjoy everything the beach has to offer. Open to children aged 5–14, Nippers is a great introduction to surf safety, water awareness and beach activities, while giving kids the chance to have fun and make friends.
Children can join Nippers from the age of 5, making it a great way to start developing their confidence in and around the water from an early age.
Our Nippers sessions are held on Sunday mornings from 9.30-11.30. Children are grouped according to age and take part in a range of activities on the sand and in the water, with each session designed to build skills, confidence and an understanding of the beach environment.
With the support of our trained Age Managers and volunteers, Nippers provides a friendly, encouraging environment where kids can learn at their own pace, challenge themselves and, most importantly, have fun.

Registrations Open - Thursday 24 September 6pm
Surf Club Open Day - Sunday 27 September 10am-1pm
Proficiency Swims - Saturday 17 October 10am - 12pm or Thursday 22 October 4.30pm - 6pm at Bomaderry Pool
Nippers Starts - Sunday 1 November 930am

REGISTRATION FEES
1 parent/carer + 1 nipper - $80
2 parents/carers + 1 nipper - $130
All additional nippers - $30 each
Please note that a minimum of 1 parent/carer must be a member to register a nipper or nippers.

REGULAR NIPPER SESSIONS
Nippers are held each Sunday morning during the patrol season (November -April)
Muster - 915am
Activities - 930am - 11.30am (approx.)
Please arrive ready for muster, in uniform with sunscreen applied
UNIFORMS
Nippers MUST wear a long sleeve rash shirt and a sun safe hat. They may wear their own rash shirt or a club rash shirt. If wearing their own rash shirt, a nipper vest must be worn over the top. Nippers will not be able to participate in water activities without a pink vest or club rash shirt.
Uniforms are available at the club. If needing uniforms, please arrive at the club at 9am before nippers starts.

The club has a large range of wetsuits available to loan for the season.
COMMUNICATION AND PARENT/CARER INVOLVEMENT
We use WhatsApp for communication for all Shoalhaven Heads Surf Club news and events. Please check in regularly as some information will be time sensitive, change of venue or requests for help.
For the privacy and protection of all our members, these groups are private and access is limited to approved club members, parents and carers. Once registered, parents and carers will be sent details on how to join the WhatsApp group.
Our surf club, including our nippers program is run 100% by volunteers. Our program only works with the help of our parents and carers and our surf club community.
Nippers is not a “drop and go” activity and we are not babysitters. We are here to teach our nippers lifesaving skills, competition skills and confidence in the water and on the beach while having fun and making new friends.
Please attend muster so you know what is happening, stay close while your children are at nippers, find out how you can help, in and out of the water and be part of the club we are so proud of.
